Similar stuff to what the inside of the earth is made out of: rock.

      The quick answer is “rock”.

Rocks on or near the Moon’s surface contain silicon, aluminium, oxygen, sodium, titanium, calcium, iron and magnesium.

Like Earth, the Moon has a core believed to be made of iron. Unlike Earth’s core which is hot and molten, the Moon’s seems to be cold and solid.

The best guess scientist have about the formation of the moon is that the earth was hit by a giant mars sized body causing bits to fly off the earth into orbit, which then grouped together to form the Moon. So the moon is made from Earth bits.
