      The atmosphere gets thinner as you go higher. On top of Mount Everest you need an oxygen tank to breathe!

      Once you get into outer space (100km up) there is no atmosphere at all. Just a vacuum. Completely empty, super cold (-270 degrees) and completely quiet.
