I once had a tour of the Space Science Laboratory in Berkeley California, and they showed us one of the satellites they were building. It has these extendable arms that unfold when it gets to space. They demonstrated how one of the arms unfolds. There was this little metallic box on the floor, and the scientist pushed a button on it, and a metal antenna shot out of it and extended about 15 feet long toward the ceiling in a fraction of a second! I was just in a lab on monday with a robot arm the put on the rovers they send to mars. They had put a mechanical hand with fingers on the end of it. It was really cool. It could bend in all sorts of directions is was great.I think it would be cool to bring to a school and let the students move it about from a computer.
