Question: I am very inquisitive but why do stars shine?
Asked by maeve99 to Arlene, Colin, David, Eugene, Paul on 20 Nov 2012.
answered on 20 Nov 2012:
Stars shine because they are very very very hot, so its more that they glow or radiate heat. This heat is then transformed into light energy which radiates out into space
answered on 21 Nov 2012:
The energy comes from the fusion happening in their centers. atomic nuclei are pushed together so hard that the atoms merge and become a new element. Hydrogen turns into helium. This releases a lot of energy!
